The only relationship we have to rats black or otherwise is our name and our logo, you can be assured that the rest of the property is clean and rat free. We are instead part of David Nicholson’s family of eating and drinking establishments with The Black Boy pub that is just round the corner.
The black rat or Ratus ratus in Latin can be found here on wikipedia. Our logo is designed to be a take on the butchers beef cuts diagram (That site has some nice descriptions of the different cuts).
Here is another nice diagram of a cow. When you have read up you can try this game to put the cuts back on the cow. So that pigs do not feel left out here is cuts of Pork and Beef , Poultry, Lamb, Veal. We do also try to have vegetarian options on the menu.
