Thanks for a delightful evening.The 10 of us using the private dining room and drawing room.The service was casual and efficient which made the evening memorable.As a group we travel a lot on business,to some very specialised restaurants.You are up there with the best in terms of quality ,and certainly better than many in terms of ambience.

I have been hearing about the Black Rat Restaurant for a while from a friend. I had quite high expectations and though I might be disappointed as I have visited many award winning and famous restaurants before and tasted some very unique and top quality cooking. Well, little did I know. I experienced one of the nicest meals and evenings that I have had in ages. Dining in ‘The Black Rat’ Restaurant is very homely yet special, warm open fire, candle lit rooms with character, quirky details and decor that makes you feel at home and you forget about your surroundings and get into a nice relaxing mode with your senses switched on to enjoy some very fine food. There is a great menu with colorful and mouthwatering selection of starters, mains and desserts and a fabulous selection of wines! What also stood out was the fantastic service and attention to detail from all the staff. I could not fault it even if I tried. Looking forward to the next time.

Another wonderful meal to round off our post Christmas celebrations – food brilliant as usual and staff could not be friendlier. We travelled from Bournemouth by train and bus and it was well worth the trip. Already looking forward to our next visit

The Black Rat is simply my favourite restaurant in England. Offering consistently superb quality, and often usual, food – always using fresh ingredients – and with truly fantastic service, I can highly recommended this restaurant… we try to visit often!
